Learn to Shoot 1 (LTS 1)
The TPS Method Tactical Learn to Shoot 1 class is our entry level pistol instruction class. LTS 1 is perfect for beginners! But, also for those who have been shooting for a while, but have not received any professional instruction. Everything is included in your tuition:

LTS 1 is a 4 hour, live fire, no stress class that focuses on safety, confidence and building excellent skills in a short amount of time. No stress makes learning easy!
Learn to Shoot 1 class covers:
- Safety briefing
- Proper grip, trigger press, sight alignment
- Presentation (pressing the pistol out from your chest)
- Front sight focus
- Target acquisition
- Shooting and reloading
- Single shots to multiple shots
- More!
Our Learn to Shoot classes are not bullseye shooting. We are training you to use a pistol for legal self defense. We are concerned with what is called Acceptable Combat Accuracy. We want you to be able to place all of your shots on target in what is called an A zone.
TPS Method Tactical Learn to Shoot (LTS) class is the perfect class for beginners to build a solid foundation focusing on safety, basic marksmanship and safe handling skills that will last a lifetime. This is a 4 hour live fire course and all equipment (guns and ammo too) is provided including ammunition. All you need to do is show up.

Where is this class?
All live fire classes are on our TPS Method Tactical private range in nearby Hooksett New Hampshire. Classes are less than 45 minutes from Boston.
Can anyone attend?
Yes, as long as you have no criminal record or domestic orders against you and are not prohibited by law from handling firearms.
What do I need to bring?
You need to supply your own drinks, snacks and sunscreen/bug spray. We advise long pants, a hat and that you bring a jacket. Class is rain or shine, hot or cold. Ammo, eye and ear protection are available to use if you do not have your own.
Can I use my own gun?
Yes!
As long as you are legally permitted to own it and carry it at the class location.
Do I need experience?
No!
This class is designed for true beginners that have little to no experience with shooting. Those with experience are more than welcome. We are sure this will be an excellent refresher course for you.
Learn to Shoot 2 (LTS 2)
The TPS Method Tactical Learn to Shoot 2 (LTS 2) class picks up where LTS 1 left off. Depending on student progress, we may add a low level of stress to this class.
In this class we build the skills learned in LTS 1 and boost your confidence to a higher level.
LTS 2 will cover:
- Safety briefing
- How to establish a proper grip on your pistol before the draw
- How to draw and present your pistol from concealment
- Front sight and target acquisition
- How to reload from concealment
- Shooting while moving
- Shooting from different positions while drawing/presenting
- Malfunction Clearance
In the Learn to Shoot 2 class, we expect that you have your own equipment.
If you are taking it on the same day as LTS 1, arrangements can be made to use ours.
Students will need:
- Gun-striker fired 9mm preferred
- High quality holster (AIWB preferred)
- Spare magazine carrier
- High quality gun belt
- Eye and ear protection
