TPS Method Tactical is the greater Boston area’s leading firearms training company.
TPS Method Tactical specializes in teaching those new to shooting, and those with little or no formal firearms training how to safely handle and shoot their firearms. We also offer classes for advanced level shooters, private security and law enforcement.
Our mission statement is Building Operator Level Skill in Everyday People and we do it!
TPS Method Tactical classes at, every level, are taught methodically in a building block style.
We build your skills, safety and confidence by using a progression of no stress to higher levels of stress in different classes. Beginners learn best in a no stress environment, while those with higher levels of skill need stress to challenge themselves. At every level, we make classes informative, safe and fun.
Our TEAM of professional instructors is primarily comprised of former Military and LEO tactical team members or Special Ops personnel. This ensures that your training comes from people who have used it when the chips were down.
We don’t teach dogma, we teach what is simple and effective under stress.
Whether you are a true beginner and want to take a safety class to get your gun permit, or a seasoned professional, we offer a class that will build and improve your skills with a gun.
Join a class now and build your skills. Train like your life depends on it.
It might.

Whether you are brand new to guns or you have experience, you will learn something at our Familiarization and Maintenance (F&M) class.
The F&M class is the perfect bridge between Basic Firearms Safety and our Learn to Shoot classes. We have found that those who took F&M with us shot better, faster at LTS range classes!
Attending the TPS Method Tactical F&M class is also an excellent idea for those who have not yet purchased a pistol. We will bring a wide variety of brands, types, sizes and styles of pistols so you can handle them all. This lets you know which one fits your hands and needs best, instead of just going into the gun store and buying what they show you. You will be an educated consumer.
Our Familiarization & Maintenance Class will cover:
- Loading/unloading (no live ammo in this class)
- Field stripping
- Inspection
- Cleaning
- Reassembly
- How to properly grip a pistol
- How to press the trigger
